yep, thats been suggested to the shop that tuned. they insisted that a car cant lose its tune. I told them that wearing parts change the mechanical properties, which would have an affect on the tune. They say its not possible. Pissing match ensues.

Ive got too much grease under my nails to believe them.

well, it's not a matter of the car "losing" the tune. I'd say you either have a mechanical issue that's effecting the car or your tune sucks. It sounds like your airflow tables are off. Did they do a cruise tune or just a wot tune on the dyno?

That I do not know. It was tuned 4 years ago when the cam went in. Its just gotten progressively worse.

I'd say that's probably a mechanical issue then if it's got progressively worse. Have you tried cleaning the throttle body and maf sensor and things like that?

I am thinking about getting the 228r but would like to know how it runs on the stock torque converter. Are all you guys running these cams on stock torque converters?

Not sure how we went from asking about a 228r to a cam with specs that are similar to the Torquer v2, but whatever. Consider changing the O2's especially after 4yrs. That could cause the sluggish low RPM issues as well.

On topic, the 228r is a proven cam with numbers on the TSP website. Like others have said it's not about the numbers but about doing the research and getting parts that work together. I'm running a single pattern 224, and if I were to go a 228r, I would either go custom grind 228, or off the shelf: 228/288 .588/.588 @ 112 lsa
