Is a 2010 Camaro SS a upgrade for a GTO ??

This is a discussion on Is a 2010 Camaro SS a upgrade for a GTO ?? within the Camaro / SS forums, part of the Vehicle Specific category; Might be a slight upgrade, but I would never do it. It's not worth the money....

Headroom and turning radius in parking speed is about the only thing the GTO has over the Camaro.. and that is about the same as the 4th gen.. The Camaro is wider and , I think , longer than the GTO .. It is almost more Muscle car size then Pony car .. More like a Chevelle than a Camaro ,, think a 67 size wise .. The dash is not that bad or good .. Its a dash everything works and you get what you need .. the one I drove had HUD , very cool..
I like the way the car looks , fascia not so much, but I think this is the way all cars will look , so you can get that one piece wrap around front piece .. as far as the windows and front and rear windshield... GTO has to much glass and the Camaro is just the opposite .. but you get what they make .. The Camaro may have a bigger blind spot , but its mirrors cover it better than the GTO ..
The brakes are insane , so is cornering and I took out a V6.. Ohh and on that the V6 is a RPM engine , a manual is a must .. Im sure the LS3 is more than enough engine .. I just wonder how the L99 would work compared to the my GTO which is a auto also ..
Now with the Camaro still in my recent memory I need to take out a 5.0 Mustang , which I intend to do Monday ..

I know a lot of people think the new Camaro is ugly, but to me I love the body and most the front clip but the fascia just to flat .. but like I said I think that is the way new cars will look ..

Defiantly agree with 10spokess. Ive driven a few 2010's, blind spots out the ass!
Even though the 2010 has a big engine, its still a bigger heavier car. I'de go with the lighter more aerodynamic ls1. Keep the goat and get an f body!

so final conclusion...Upgrade from a GTO I would say yes , but upgrade from a 4th gen
Im not so sure ..Engine would be a upgrade , but as for the car I think I like a 4th Gen better ..
