Is a 2010 Camaro SS a upgrade for a GTO ??
I have been thinking about trading the GTO , I was wondering if a 2010 Camaro is a real upgrade or should I just stay with the GTO .... .. I see the 2010 gets no love with most people ...

2016 Camaro SS - Summit- 2001 Trans Am WS6 - NBM
I think the no love stems more from the looks than anything. It wouldn't be too much weight difference from your GTO, and you would be upgrading to an LS3 (or L99). Interior is pretty awesome IMO on the new Camaro. What else...umm, you won't have 4 doors, that could go either way depending on if you've got kids, etc.
If you like the new body style, I don't see why you wouldn't. Be careful trading in though...those dealers will really low-ball you on your GTO...Last edited by Y2KArcticSS; 05-05-2011 at 08:20 AM.

I say do it if you have the opportunity! Get a new project I'm sure the SS is as comfortable as the GTO, I sat in a SS but I haven't sat in a GTO so I can't say. Would you go 6 speed? That LS3 is a beast to the LS2 also and while they are heavy I am sure they are still fun

I sat in a camaro when shopping around. Found one in the aqua blue supposedly loaded(only color I would've considered. Dislike for the interior was an understatement. I would pay over retail for a 4th gen before paying under sticker for a 5th gen.

well it really depends on what YOU want. not having a payment is nice, but having a new project is also nice. If you really want a project get you a ZL1 when it comes out.

red- 2000 Z28
I've spent some time in both and I prefer the interior of the GTO. Visibility in the 5th gen BLOWS, the gauges are over-stylized and I find difficult to read. The seats are nice in the Camaro and much better than the 4th gens, but they are no better than the GTO's which are probably the best stock seats in any GM, and the red leather is straight up PIMP.

Black- 2002 SS Camaro
When I drive my dad's around when he doesn't feel like driving it is definitely the best feeling in the world. I used to hate how big they were, and the blind spots are a b!tch until you get used to the car. After the learning curve is gone it is pretty damn sick, look in camaro5.com and see what stuff you like out there. The aftermarket is becoming really heavy for the 5th gen's and I don't see it stopping any time soon. I would save the GTO just cause there aren't many out there since there was only 3 year's of production, but If you really don't mind that I would go strait for the 2010 you wont be sorry

It depends on how much you love your car.
I would buy a 2010 camaro SS.
But I would not trade my ls1 ss for a new one.
I would keep Both. Or my ls100 ss blk m6 " STOCK" strano springs, slp bilstein shocks, adj LCA, adj panhard bar, relocation brackets, 2 point SFCs welded,OEM zo6 rims black, magnaflow exhaust, CME exhaust,E/cutout, slp grille, custom front plate mount, HIDs, whistler mod, side moldings delete, slp air lid, ported and polished TB, strut tower brace, 3.73s gears, and some other parts to list!
next to come,4.10s,ls7 clutch, ms3 or 228r cam, ported 243s, ls6 intake, ls6 oil pump. ls2 timing chain, longtube headers no cats, with a tune..
02 tahoe Z71 blacked out
00 jeep grand Cherokee limited on 22s.
07 Dodge Charger R/T Inferno Red, Sold

Black- 2002 SS Camaro
If you had the choice to buy a 2010 Camaro, or buy a 2002 Camaro and keep the gto I would buy the 2002 and keep the GTO and then make the 2002 your all out beast of a car
