the design, the powerplant, the interior, the suspension...the tighter build/quality, the transmissions .. give me a black on black SS2 RS any day

I just saw one today, and i about "JIZZED in my pants..."

Black with yellow striping along the raised part of the hood and some yellow striping towards the bottom of the door, it looked absolutley amazing. He already had something on the calipers, like "camaro" or something, but i couldn't tell as I was driving by...

I have a bolt-on M6 WS6 (full exhaust, intake, TB, tune, DR's....341hp 355tq on Mustang dyno) with 17k miles on it. My buddy should get his Manual SS within a month and I'm going to video a day time race. He thinks he gonna demolish me but I told him he might be surprised at the outcome. I will post the video everywhere regardless.

I have a nearly stock T/A (only mods are a lid and pro 5.0 shifter). Ran a new Camaro a couple days ago at a stoplight. Neither of us launched that great, but he hooked up first. I never got closer than half a car on him, and he would've kept pulling if we hadn't shut down due to it being a public road (and an XLR-V embarrassing us both).

The new Camaro has really grown on me. I'd still rather have a used C6 if I was looking at dropping that kind of money on a new toy, but I wouldn't pass up the right 2010 SS either. I was "eh" at first...but after seeing a few in person I really like them. And they're putting up better numbers than I thought they would for being so heavy.

An 02 with full bolt ons and a good tune would give the 2010 SS a run for its money, a very good run

slow down spanky that is the fastest recorded time for a f-body...it is by no means the norm...looking at 13.2-.6 stock for a 02 maro

Exactly and what you guys arent considering is the new camaro has trapped 111mph. Thats the trap speed of a full bolt on m6 98-02 camaro/trans am.

which probably also means..if they go from a dig on the street..the new SS will get real nasty and really shine...traction is the new maro's biggest problem..take traction out of the picture ..and well you know the outcome

Do not forget the almost 29" diameter tires on the same rearend ratios as our 98-02 LS1's with just under 26" diameter, that is reducing the rear end ratio alot from 3.45 on the manual or 3.23 on the auto. I think that is killing the new cars along with the weight of that 20" wheel/tire combo.

Your correct, that was the factory rating, and I firmly believe it was highly underated just so the vette looked like it had more. And when stock LS1 F-body's pull ~315rwhp on dynos, it leads me to believe it even more.
My '01 stock SS LS1 with dual/dual exhaust dynoed at 340hp.

It is a stock SS (I bought it new) with the air box cut out and loudmouth exhaust. Oh and a K&N. I thought in '01 and '02 they were rated at 330 - 340 anyway.(not on paper)
