is that same camaro as in the above video. 50 miles on it, come straight from dealer. apparently those low dyno numbers for the new SS's are the autos. this ones an M6 and dyno'd at 365rwhp.

edit: therefor, i'm not understanding how the auto is .1 sec quicker to 60 and thru the 1320'

Probably because someone isn't very good at driving a manual. You'll find that most of the time.

true. still think it'll be a good race even a 2010 m6 against a full bolt-on LS1. We've got a couple SS's running around now. Some younger guys driving them. Keep waiting for one of them to want to play

Maybe,,,just too many variables. I really don't have much done to my wifes car,,,but I still managed to pull away a bit before we shut them down. Only went through first and second gear though, and a short burst in 3rd. He was an older gentleman, even older than me. We old folk still like to play, we are just a little more cautious It's funny though I've seen this guy driving it around on several different occasions now, and if I'm in my wifes car he recognizes it/me and waves. He's enjoying the car it seems.

Yes my friends this is what GM calls there lunch control.. which basically allows you to have the foot on the gas all times without lifting and just power shift... technology has changed my friend firebirdjones...

I've read about a new maro running high 12's at 111mph.. IMO I think it would be a drivers race.!! They running consistent low 13's/high 12's if you are a good driver.. Depending on who had the better driver mod

Ya, that's why I still gravitate to the old 50's-70's stuff more than anything. I just like things simple I guess.
The more sofisticated these cars get, the more expensive they are to repair. Warranties only last so long.

I dont know...tough one...but the new one I think would win...and if not..then they didnt improve much! My 2002 SOM SS is rated at 345hp with SLPII Package..and it is 100% stock and I had it dynoed at 365hp...GM under-rated the Camaro's!

Check out the new GMHT mag. they ran a 10' auto and a 10' manual and got 13.3 and 13.0. they blame the 29" tall tires killing the gear ratios and launches
along with weather conditions but real life non the less. I don't think they are set up for drag racing without aftermarket help. They ran a 10' r/t challenger also and only went 14.0

Depends on the dyno. But 365whp is too high for bone stock ls1 car. As kthe shop you got your car dynoed at if STIs and EVOs put down 300whp stock lol.

i am positive it has to do with the fact that both the auto and manual are 6 speeds...the computer will always shift faster then a human..and stall converter has a HUGE play on those times
