    2000 SS with ASR issues

hey i have a 2000 SS with the ASR option.. The ASR, ABS, and Brake lights are all on.. Now they will all go off every now and then and stay off for 10 to 15 minutes.. The ASR switch does not function when they are lit. Any ideas as to why all three would be randomly coming on like this.. All of the fuses on the dash and under hood check good. Any help of where to start would be greatly appreciated.

I have the "ASR OFF" light permanently on right now. Not sure of the reason, but I am going to take it to a service person soon. My switch does nothing, I have no traction control, but I do have ABS....

I believe there's an ASR bypass box that can be installed. Maby you have one of those installed?

i'm not that pro but i believe its an elec. problem there ..

i had the same problem with my ASR .. the ASR is related to the lower air sensor and there was an wire which was unplugged and i plugged it back ..

Sounds like an ABS wheel speed sensor is flaking out on you. The ASR gets info from the ABS wheel speed sensors, if one of those sensors is failing it will do just as you describe. You need to get the system scanned.

that is intake air temp will not turn on asr or brake lamp, just check engine
if ASR and red brake lamp are on you have a severe ABS/asr issue.
a wheel speed sensor will only put on ABS lamp, not red brake lamp
sounds like a EBCM electronic brake control module, the electric half of the ABS unit. try and have the codes scanned..if it needs one i would try one from a bone yard or E-bay before paying for a new one.
i needed one for mt 2000 z, got it for less then 100 on flea bay, worked like a charm
