ohh i was just wondering b/c it says a bunch of bs bout it not being a recall, but it you are experiencing truoble with you cats take it to a gm dealer and they will fix it for free.

i dont know what that sounds like to yous, but it sounds like a recall to me.lol

    Sadly now demodded :(

I got that notification about 2 years ago for my 2002 Z28. I don't have cats anyway so I filed it with all the other stuff I have on my car (just in case).

It's not a recall, it is either a special policy or a lawsuit settlement. I'm assuming special policy since the federal emissions warranty(which covers catalytic converters) is 8 years or 80K miles. And since a 00 camaro would be up this year, chances are they have extended the warranty a bit longer since the F-body cat is just a failure....

I got that notice 2 years ago as well, months after I had just had both my cats replaced under warranty b/c it failed emmisions due to a bad cat. At that time one of my friends was the service manager at a GM dealer and he switched them both out for me no charge.

Right after I had to have one cat replaced is when I received my letter. Service engine light would come on once in a while, then it just stayed on. I took it to the dealer and he called me up and said the cat was replaced under the warranty.
