I believe so, but I think the whole COPO came in because Yenko had special ordered the Camaros with the bigger motors, not available otherwise. Pretty sure thats where COPO part comes in.

Only thing the dealer did to them was the appearance and such I believe. I'm not 100% on that though...
Not all yenkos were COPO cars. Some were ordered with the L78 396 option and then yenko swapped in 427s produced for vettes. I believe this was done mostly in 67 and 68 with most 69s being COPO cars.

The car has alot of performance mods to it i guess its around 500 hp, there is a plaque on the inside it has aftermarket heads, exhaust, cam, pistons, and some other mods as well, i don't have the whole story yet but i'm getting closer to getting the car.

This explains it all, it is not a GM produced "special vehicle"
Just as many of us have done, the owner took it to a private shop, had mods done to it and then the owner (just as many of us have done) gave the car a nick name the "Snake Skinner" and had this painted or decaled on the rear..................

Thats exactly what I questioned a few days ago:

Curious as to where this car is located (no I'M not interested in buying it)

Back in '95 Morrison Motorsports in Albany, Ga took a Corvette, reworked the motor, added an appearance package to make it aerodynamically functional and called it the "Snake Skinner" It was basically designed and built to compete agaisnt Vipers, hence the moniker "Snake Skinner"
They also added the Snake Skinner logo on the rear.

Just wondering if they did something similiar to this Camaro you are referring to

Let's see..This guy does some mods to the car, names it "Snake Skinner" and puts some decals on it, and now everyone's interested in it. Hmmmm.....I named my car Mr. Hyde after the monster in Dr. Jeckyl and Mr. Hyde (I own that plate too) and modded my car, but no one's interested in buying it even though it's in the "For Sale" dept.
Oh Shit! I forgot the all important STICKERS!!!!!! Does anyone know where I can get my hands on some of those stickers!?

Well mister hyde the car that i'm getting is made by Tommy C. Morrison of Morrison Motorsports, maybe u should do some research about him, He's done alot more for GM than Don Yenko or Nickey or even Berger, and those cars weren't going for big bucks back then. The guy designed the northstar engine for cadillac and helped GM and Mobil to merge for a corvette raciong team that is still going. Then guy has the legal rights to the snake skinner name, there were only 4 built in 1998, and a few more the next year, most of the cars or in private collections for the sake of it might be something like a yenko or nickey. The kid that got it doesn't know what he's got he could care less about the camaro since he got a brand new hayabusa and needs somethign to haul it around so i'm taking advantage of it. your in seattle, i guess i could call my car mister hyde and get some plates that say that.

You naysayers can doubt eymana and make fun & ridicule, but with everything eymana has said about the car, I have to believe him.
As a former Corvette road racer, I am familiar with the Corvette "Snake Skinner" that the same Morrison Motorsports built back in '95.
All of what is being said about this "Snake Skinner" Camaro appears to be genuine and I personally are anxious to see photos and hear more about this vehicle.
eymana, congrats on the purchase, you're getting a hell of a Camaro!

By the way, I call my SLP Camaro SS "Phantom SS" & my plates read that also.
GM High Tech Performance Magazine just did a photo shoot and interviewed me about the vehicle & the article will be in the magazine within the next couple of issues.
Maybe we will see the "Snake Skinner" in their in the future.
