00 SS M6 worth it?
i found a 2000 camaro SS m6 t-top for sale on autotrader. its only got 21,xxx k miles on it and its fully loaded. but it has its problems the check enigine light is on but you cant scan it to see what it is because no power is getting to the diagnostic plug ( i think thats what its called) also the the fuel gage doesnt work so the check guage light is on. the turn signals work but dont blink just stay solid and the a/c doesnt work. also the car has a salvage title. it drives straight and runs excellent. i know it has its problems but is that car worth 9,995?
im 17 years old and this is somthing i can afford and its my dream car. i know i can fix some of the small thing but am i going to loose on that salvage title or can i resell no problem? thanks for any imputLast edited by SScamaroSS; 06-06-2006 at 03:10 PM.

Black- 2002 SS
The car obviously has some electrical problems. It could be anything from some blown fuses to a bad BCM or PCM. Does the owner offer any history/explanations?

its from a dealer and they said they did wanna mess with it because they couldnt figure it out so the would have to take it to gm so theyre selling it as is.
by the way i checked the fuses and they were all good.

Could be an electrical nightmare. Almost sounds like it was a flood car or something, electrical problems that bad aren't too common on F-Bodies.
If it was a VW, then it would be normal lol

the car was in an accedent thats why it has a salvage title. the drivers side was hit you can see where it doesnt like up perfect but it drives straight and and put it on a lift and it looks good under there also.
i just cant see passing up a 10k dollar ss with 21k miles on it.Last edited by SScamaroSS; 06-07-2006 at 07:52 AM.

unless you are prepared to pay a decent chunk of change to have the problems fixed correctly, i wouldn't buy it. I think this car is on ebay. For a few extra thousand dollars you can find an SS with low miliage and a clean title and you won't have to worry about it. In my opinion, I would steer clear of this car!

dont buy it. salvage is still a salvage. there are deals out there, dont jump on the first one you find. resale is going to hurt you. i wanted one for about 2 years. saved some money and i looked for about 3 months straight, everyday autotrader, recycler, pennysaver, ebay, auto extra, ebaymotors, and finally came up on a 98 ss m6, 31,000 mint cond for 11,000.

when buying a car dont get desperate, it must be a timefull process, i searched for months before getting mine. its all about finding that dimond in the rough, and thats what i found, i drove 3 hours just to look at it
