$450 for a bulb? Wow they kill you on that! I have 3 LG LCD's. Never heard of of LCD's having problems like yours. Shouldn't the warranty take care of that I would think?

warranties would take care of it but more than likely it isnt warranteed. how big are your lcds? his lcd due to the size is most likely the lcd projection type. a small lcd screen is actually in the tv but it has a projection set up to where it makes the picture fit the screen size behind it. that does sound about right for the bulb though. it sucks that companies are killing off projections though. dlp imo was the best thing to come out of texas. they have bulbs aswell but some came out with led bulbs which will last a lifetime.

lg has solid lcds. yours are the flat panels arent they. i think the dlps were the best all around. picture for various uses, brightness, colors, sharpness, size, price, and very little maintainance depending on the brand. the samsung dlps had the led bulb and the only thing that might possibly break due to usage would be the control panel. it does suck that the technology is pointing away from them though. the only flaw, if you want to call it that, is the fact that the closer you get to the screen the fuzzier it gets. but that is within 4 ft of the screen though and i sit about 8 ft away. but all this is definitely a person to person opinion and will always be different for others.

Try contacting a local shop. They can usually do good work for a lot cheaper. May save yourself a couple hundred bucks.
