just a ? you can find 317 castings all over the place fairly cheap, they would make more power and bolt right on y not go with those?

The 317's are from the 6.0 truck motors. Starting in 2001 they were made of aluminum. They have 71cc combustion chambers so they drop the compression down to 9:1 on the little 346 ci. Would be great for a forced induction setup but if you are going naturally aspirated then you would have to mill the crap out of them to get any decent compression out of it.
Not my first choice. 241's and 243's are pretty easy to find.
