Shifter for 98 Z28 Auto

I want either a new aftermarket shifter or a stock one will work. What suggestions will be a good one to get. I don't care which one, I just want something that will work to replace mine that is hard to get out of park. And the top of it is busted. Just want something new that works!!! Thanks!!

its not hte shift i had that problem on my auto. its the sensor/switch taht senses that you have the brake depressed. i replaced my shift knob and then discovered it. just remove that sensor and you will be golden. just make sure not to bump it out of park. =)

also, the camaro ones work better than the trans m ones because it goes straight down vs the trans am ones that slide across to depress the shifter. feel free to email me if you have any questions. you can test to seee if it is the switchor your sift knob if you remove th piece and drive with just the plastic piece to depress and see if your problem is solved or not.

Silkee09, thanks for the info. I will see what happens with your suggestion. I still need the top plastic piece because my 19 year old son couldn't get it out of park and put his big fist on it too hard and broke it. I figured if I was going to take it apart I would do some upgrade or something new. I really don't care which way I go as long as it looks good and works. Thanks again, Danny.....

check ebay i got mine off there for 8 bucks or go to a junk yard to get one. good luck and hope it works out for you ..
