I have a 700R4 out of a 89 T/A. It held up well behind about 525 HP
408 smallblock. Took it out after about 300 miles, smoked the motor, got a 01 SS. Now I am a LSX nut like the rest of these guys. Better check on the 700R4 vs LS1 bolt patter on bell housing. Unless that stuff doesn't matter to you.

This trans worked perfect when I pulled it. I was going to use it in my 48 pick up but I have two and I want to do a peformance build before I put it in the truck, and this one was really holding up well (no sense in rebuilding one that doesn't need it) so I will use the other one. $250 + shipping from Tarpon Springs FL area.
