Monsoon stereo and 12 disc CD player

Selling my Monsoon stereo out of my 02 Trans Am, all buttons work perfectly fine and have minimal wear. $40

Also selling the 12 disc changer that came with the car stock, it is a Pioneer unit and works great also. $80

Sorry, should have clarified -- both the head unit and CD changer. How does the Theftlock crap work? Do I need your code or is that something in my BCM -- I'm really not sure.

It would be paypal and shipping is $20 at your door by Monday. I wanna say the code would work by getting it from the dealership and providing them with the HU serial number? That's how it worked in my wifes mitsubishi

Once when i forgot mine the dealership guy punched in a code and unlocked it and left it uncoded so it will work again should i ever forget the code.....that was years ago and yup i dont remember at this time so i guess it was a good idea? Some may not want this but i figured if my stereo was stolen id be more pissed at the damage that probably would happen and my insurance would cover it anyway.

Any way we can verify that I will be able to make it work? Would I need your VIN? I honestly do not know anything about the stock system, other than it likes to blow speakers. I have installed 2 replacement speakers in our car already and I rarely use it.

I wouldn't have a problem giving you my vin, I would try looking something up in my owners manual but I don't have one

I just looked it up and pulled this from another forum, I never saw a flashing LED in front of my radio so I'm gonna say it was never enabled by the previous owner or the dealer.

You usually don't have to worry about the TheftLock feature. TheftLock is not activated when you buy a new car and most owners don't bother activating it after taking delivery. Considering how little used Monsoon head units cost, there isn't much market for stolen ones. You can tell if TheftLock is activated by the flashing red LED on the face of the radio when the car isn't running.

There is a thread on here how to unlock it. My code is 1515. Helps to write it on the top of the deck. I mean, come on, who is honestly going to steal the factory deck?

Ditto that one jeff...i replaced all speakers a few years(4) ago...with same but these seem to be ok ...so far so good!

Jeff, I believe in the owners manual it tells you how to unlock it if you forget the code and should work with any radio you decide to put in there.

I'd have to look it up again as it's been a while since I've had to do it.
