    Orion,

I have a itty bitty light weight battery. Is there any chance I can get one made out of aluminum if I give you the dimensions of the battery?

what are the dimensions? It'd be really tough for me to do that but I could give it a shot and if it doesn't work you don't owe me anything for it. I could maybe make a cardboard replica of it and use that for test fits. Shoot me the dimensions and I'll give it a shot. I don't have any aluminum stock here but I can get some this week and give it a try.

Thanks.... I try to make them look as nice as I can given the tools I have to work with. I have a whole handful out here that the holes are drilled slightly off center. They'll still line up fine but don't look as good....not good enough to sell someone unless I get tired of making them and someone still wants one of them.

    Bracket needed for Autocross

Orion, I clicked your user name and sent you an email to request a bracket by this Saturday (18th April '09) if possible. It didn't appear as a sent message in my profile, so I wasn't sure you received it. Please let me know whether you received the request with my details and if you can get me a bracket by Saturday?

Sorry for the short notice, but I just received the rules today for the Autocross (my first) and it calls for a metal battery tie down. Yours seem ideal since they're custom made for the car. I have the stock battery in my '02 Trans-am WS6, so I assume it will fit.

    Thanks.

    Fitted my new bracket

Recieved my bracket from Orion today. Mighty quick service considering I only requested it Monday (its now Wednesday). Bracket fits like a charm and looks the business. I'm really delighted with it. Thanks Orion. Should have no problems with the mechanical scrutiny for the Autocross!

Posted a couple of pics below to show how well it fits.

Only problem I had is that the lower screw had a non-captive nut underneath the battery tray, which of course fell off under the car when I took the screw out. Once I found where the nut was and then found where the screw was poking out it was easy to put back. Included a picture of the nut location under the car for if anyone else has this issue.

    Cheers Orion, you're a star!

thanks.......that picture of the nut might come in handy for me at some point. I've had mine apart many many times test fitting these and haven't lost it yet. I guess I've just been lucky so far. Glad you liked the bracket.
