battery hold down bracket...
I made one of these for a member here and bought a 6' length of stock so I made a few extra's in case other people wanted them. I know it's common for the hold down to break.
These are hand made and aren't perfect but they'll get the job done and I paint them flat black so they don't stick out. I test fit them on my battery which is roughly 7.5" wide x 7" tall so if you want to make sure this will fit just measure your battery and if it's close to that this will work. I couldn't decide whether this is worth $15 shipped or $10 shipped so lets try $12.50 shipped.

here's one unpainted:
here's one painted:
keep in mind that these are hand made so they're not machine perfect. I also suggest measuring your battery to see if it's the same as mine because I test fit them using my battery.

Black- 2002 Camaro SS SLP
I thought i would take some pics to try and help the sell. BTW guys.. if your looking for a battery hold down bracket, expect to pay $30+ somewhere online. These may be homemade, but they are really good!
Thanks again Orion

thanks and glad you like it. The 2 other ones I have here I did something a little different to them after thinking about it and you should pull yours out and do. I put a couple coats of clear on them. Not sure why I didn't do that from the beginning. It'll just make the paint a little more durable and scratch resistant. The downside is they shine a little more but I don't think it's enough to make them stick out.

yeah, I have 2.5 made out there now. Have a 3rd to paint but it's 16 degrees out so they're not getting painted until it's a little warmer. If you want one just PM me your info and I'll get one in the mail to you. Send me the money after you get it and put it on to make sure it fits fine for you and you like it. I'm not doing this to make money ( obviously by the price). It's just a common thing to fail on our car and is easy to make. I put every one of them on my car first to make sure it fits so if your battery is the same dimensions it'll fit yours.
edit: I am making a couple dollars but my time is worth something. I have ~$5 in parts plus almost another $5 to ship after I buy the padded envelope so I'm making about $2. I can make $2 digging change out of my couch and it takes less time than these to make.Last edited by 0rion; 03-02-2009 at 04:28 PM.

bump
have 1 painted and 1 or 2 to paint. These will probably be the last ones I make for a while unless someone requests one.

Orion:
Do you just place this in a padded envelope and send via USPS?
If so can you check for additional shipping cost to my home zip code T1H 4X9?
If it is too much will work it out for my US addy, it is just that I was there (in Montana) last weekend and am not exactly sure when I will go to the 'cabin' again/next.
PM if you would like, if not just post here....

I had thought about doing that but there really shouldn't be enough vibration up there to cause any issues and it fits down on the battery pretty snug so the battery really shouldn't be moving. Someone could do that pretty easily though if they opted too. I ran mine all last year for the most part and when I took it off this year to start making these there wasn't even a mark on the battery from it.
