WTF is a mk2 spyder??

I was cruising a couple of towns over and seen this lotus looking car so I drove by and was like WTF. The front end looks italianish. I drove by and this old guy who was driving looked at me like I had four heads. I parked and walked to a ATM and it read MK2 Spyder.. No other markings.. nothing.. I came back outta the store after I got the cash and the guy drove around my car slow looking it over and then wavved/smiled and kept driving.. I googled it and it appears to be made by Toyota. Wierd looking bastards. Looked brand new in bright yellow... anyone have any specs on the super ricer??

Are you sure it wasn't an MR2? If it is it is a mid engine sports car with ( IIRC) a targa top (which makes it a "Spyder" or convertible - of sorts).

the spyder was a waste of money and slow, but i will say that they handled fuckin awesome. Had one in the shop one year as a used car.

buddy of mine had one....I ragged his ass the entire time he had it. It was so slow it had dead bugs on the back windshield. Definitely a chick car. When he first bought it he hounded me to drive it to see how it handled. So we're driving around in this thing while the whole time I'm thinking people are looking at me thinking it was my car.

i test-drove one of the late model mr2 once. pretty slow, but cornered great. like a go cart. made me appreciate my Z even more. nice to have a real car.
