Would you pay to put your pet to sleep?
My sister and her fiance just paid some $1,200 dollars to put their dog to sleep. Im not trying to sound like an animal slayer but I would just do it myself rather than let the vet do it, and bury my pet in my backyard somewhere. When I proposed the idea they looked at me like I was a murderer so I was like whatever, give the man your money to kill your dog. Am I wrong or would any of you be like me and do it yourself?

In a humane way of course. 1 bullet in the head. It would really pain me to do it to my own dogs, because I love my dogs, but if it had to be done I would do it.

Blue GMC Canyon- trans ams gone now
1200 for them to have poison go through their veins or 1 bullet to end it quickly. not tryin to be an ass, and if i had to do it to my own then it would pain me as well, but i'd rather do it in a way that they die quickly and painlessly.

I had a persian cat for 18 years. Her kidneys failed we had to put her down. So in response to your question yes.

did they knock it out with gas before they injected the drugs or somthing for $1200? I've only had to put one of my dogs down and had to have the vet put her down because i could not do that myself, but our vet only charged us for the drugs he used which was like under $50

a vet that would charge that is a criminal. Unless there was some sort of funeral or other service involved there, that's crazy.
I couldn't put my little boy down, that would be too much. I know I could find a less expensive vet that would do it humanely.
She got took.

Beats me, I didn't want to be too hard on her she's pretty upset at this moment. I feel like given their situation they were deeply taken advantage of. But then again funeral directors do the same to familys who loose loved ones. Nothing like hitting people when they are most vunerable.

well, whether it's criminal or not, they paid it and they won't get the money back so there's no sense in causing a stir around her about it. It was worth it to them. If I had no alternative and didn't think I could someone less expensive, I would probably give up the money too. Tough call.

thats why my sister-in law became a funeral director, because he dad died when she was in high school and the place that took care of the funeral treated her family like shit, so so became one to try to not let that happen to anyone else, as for the dogit could be a state or city thing that the vet has to charge for like dissposal of everything and bs like that, you'd like to think some one wouldn't take andvantage of some one who trust them but......

$1200, what other medical services were rendered was done prior to that before they decided to euthanize their dog?
my GF is a VET and they do not charge more that $150 I believe to euthanize an animal. however, if they had to take their dog to an Emergency Clinic then yes, I can see the price being that high because before service/care can be given to any animal they have to put down a min. of $1000 in the event an owner tries to abandon the animal...
