Worth a rant thread
It's 4:54am...
Twenty minutes ago I woke up. Now the weather is somewhat cold recently, down to 32-37F at night. So I turned my waterbed heater on. I also started sleeping in dorm pants two weeks ago to keep warm. Cold room + Warm bed = my success for sleep.
At approx. 3:45 am I woke up. Pitch dark in room, that's how I like it. Feeling damp. I figured I was sweating bad, took top two covers off went back to bed.
At approx. 4:30am I woke up...not damp, WET. Now, I freaked out. Did I do the unthinkable?!?! I rushed for a light switch...water EVERYWHERE. Waterbed got a hole in it. But yeah, those were the 17 scariest seconds of my life until I found the switch!
Draining it now, and of course it rained, yesterday so dragging the hose through my room got the carpet all dirty and muddy as well...so yeah I am about as p.o'd as I get.
Bed = unusable
sheets = soaked
pillow = soaked
tired as hell, and I am going to have to order a new matress online and wait over a week because I have a stupid off size that the stores in town don't carry.(super-single).

sure it wasn't just pee??
That's why I don't mess with waterbeds....pain in the ass on many different levels. I have enough to worry about without having to worry about drowning in my sleep.

Actually...I live off campus. This way I can drink all I want without some stupid RA busting my fun. Obviously you've never had sex on a waterbed either. It is insanley difficult. Not for the weak. You can't really brace yourself in any given direction, so balance is pivotal! Still, honing my skills on it, then going to a regular matress, and I am like John Holmes.

I slept on a waterbed until i got married. From like 5 to 26...upgraded to a queen when I was 22ish. Wish I still slept on it, great for my back, loved the heater, and yes...there is more motion in the ocean.
I still have it, and one day it will be set up again, but for now it's in the attic.

I had one til my back couldn't take it anymore... had an extra wavy one. The best part was once you got the motion down it only took half as much work lol. Also the heater in winter was always nice and you could turn it off in summer and it was nice and cool. I got another I haven't put up yet, but its got some built in matress deal... getting old sucks!
