Aww. I have always thought Wankel engines were cool. I built a large working model of a Wankel engine when I was a kid.

Worst engine is hard to choose.
The wankel isn't winning any reliability awards but it's such an interesting design that it can't possibly be the worst design. To me the worst design is not only something unreliable and poorly engineered but also has nothing special too it, no reason it should be anything but a decent motor. In the case of the Wankel for the first time in 100+ years they had the auto industry and consumers thinking.. "maybe we have been doing it wrong for all these years". I mean when was the last time before that a completely un-conventional IC engine was sold to the masses?
You could say the DSM 4g63 is a bad motor because of reliability and how many have survived but they had that amazing ability to make gobs of power... 1500+ on 2-2.3 stroker 4 cylinder engine.Last edited by Zinergy; 01-16-2018 at 09:05 AM.

When I got to local car auctions for city vehicles, it's funny how all the law enforcement agencies retire the chargers at like 50-60k miles, and half have blown up engines. Whereas the low performance crown vics basically run forever. Yeah the hemis arent exactly a reliable bunch.

I can't believe no one has mentioned "Ford's" 6.0 L diesel P.O.S. they peddled to the masses!
In for the edit: A good friend of mine bought one of these when they just came out - he was SO damn proud of it........for about 3 months.
