Wierd Stuff Man
So apparently my car is alive.. Ill probably get flammed for this but oh well..
I go to town today for the first time in like 3 days. Damn snow melted off the road finally.. So I get back in my car to go home and I notice the security light is on.. No key inserted in to the ignition or nothing... Car Wont Start.. so I take the battery cable off(I carry a 7,8,10,13,15,and 19mm with me, you can damn near take the car apart with those sizes alone) Anyway.. I wait about ten minutes and put the cable back on.. As soon as I do.. car locks itself..sets off the alarm. WTF. So I take off the cable and wait 3 minutes and put it back on... security light still on.(the one that says security) So I call my dad(gm manager and ase mastertech for years) He says I have to leave the car locked for like one hour.. Its 2:00am and 40 Degrees ..screw that... So I locked the car and call a friend to come get me and soon as I call the friend the light goes off and it starts fine... WTF MATE!!!

never heard of that before. Whenever my battery was dead from sitting all winter I used my key to unlock the car and the alarm was trying to go off. Whenever I went to replace the battery and attached the ground the alarm instantly went off..... got a bump on the head from that one.
Couldnt you just use your alarm button to get it to reset?

Mine has done that before, no reason at all, I checked the car thoroughly before i left the parking lot.. I tried to start it.. Got nothing.. Tried again.. Got nothing.. Third time it fired right up, but the light stayed on for a good 5 minutes.. Not sure what happened or why it happened, but my fix was as easy as that.. Didn't even get out of the car.

It happens sometime if my system gets a bad read on the key. It takes about 10 minutes for the security to reset. It's better to just leave the battery connected since it doesn't seem to make any difference. It seems to always do it worse when it's cold and when I'm running late.

I'vebeen having a similar problem with my car. it's rare but i'll get in to start it and i t won't do anything. look on the dash and i see the security light on. it takes about 3 minutes to turn off. if i start it the second it turns off then it will usually start. if i miss it, the light will turn on and i have to wait another 3 minutes. One time it wouldn't start for several days. went out and tried it one day and it started up fine. I've also noticed occasionaly i will be driving and the security light will come on and stay on for about ten minutes. haven't found a xause or a solution to my problem

I'm thinking of disabling the little chip sensor thing. It might prevent some troubles in the future.
