Why do people gotta bullshit?
Had a friend come over to help me with some stuff on my car today and he brought his cousin. The cousin and I wind up taking a tour in the car because he's never been in anything like it and he wants to see what it's like.
I mention that before this I had a mustang six and that there's just no comparison, and he procedes to tell me about "his buddy" who had a mustang six cyl, and "chipped" it and now it'll break the back end loose from a 25 mile/hr roll on dry pavement.
So why do guys gotta tell these whopper lies, and who do they think believes them?
Furthermore where does this "chipped" myth come from, seems like every time I turn around I'm hearing about these huge things they can do with "chips" from people who don't know shit about cars.

bald tires in the rain maybe....
i actually know a guy who has a 97 v6 rustang, he had a 4.2 stroker built for it (still a 6), full suspension, vortec supercharger, upgraded tranny parts etc, ran a 13.1 at race city on drag radials (would be mid to low 12s at a good altitude). Fast as hell for a v6 mustang but look at all the money he spent.

yeah I did alot of reading on all that when I had mine Kyle, and a v6 stang can be made quick no doubt, but just IMAGINE what the one you're talking about could have done if he'd had it "chipped" mighta been a 9 second car.

It is caused by a chemical imbalance that triggers a pecker contest attitude on any and every subject. You must humble these people to get their chemicals back into balance by slapping them upside the head with a pipe wrench.

ha ha. they say chipped because on older pcm's with a PROM not EEPROM which we have you had to actually take out the PROM or chip and replace it with another with a different program. funny tho, there is a dumbass from IOWA (idiots out wandering around) up here that tells me his firebird back home runs on alcohol and revs to at least 9000 rpm

A "chip" actually makes a pretty decent difference in my car, but that is because the stock one is junk and there are 20 years of research to make really good chips for them now.

The cousin was relaying a tale from another friend. The cousin probably didn't know any better as you took him out in the car because he had not seen anything like it. When I was a little kid some of the gigger kids told me if I jumped on old Mrs. Malony's porch the doorbell would ring. So I jumped on the porch. Next thing I know there is a pack of hornets chasing me and I ran all the way home to get away from them.
In other words... Perhaps this cousing was "gullible"...2002 Street ET Champion New England Dragway

I learned last night from my friends neighbor that a 08 g6 runs 70psi boost and that it would break the tires loose at a 25mph punch as well!!!!

My life is a- Ben Stiller movie.
i had a douchebag call my ws.666 a camaro...twice...after being corrected, who then proceded to tell me the "ls1 is a wedge engine" due to the cylinderheads sitting at an angle instead of perpendicular to the cylinder.
