Who trains BJJ?
Whats up guys. So I used to be into martial arts im my teenage and early 20's. Me and my buddies would spar basically mma style, and I did some amateur boxing. I allways sucked at wrestling/grappling though and wanted for a long time to train in Judo.
Well I've been fat and happy for a while now since I became a daddy and recently I started to watch what I eat and work out here and there and ride my bike to work.
So I found a BJJ class though at a local gym and went to it last night for the first time. All I can say is BADASS. This is one cool/tuff martial art. In one night in the beginner class I learned two ways to break a guys full guard, and 4 submission moves. 3 basically arm bars and one that's like a reverse cradle that is wicked.
The class is Tue. and Thur. every week and I plan to go at least once a week. I would go twice a week but I work 4 12's every week and don't get out till 7:30pm so I miss the class.
Anyone else into here? Any training I can do at home? I suppose not since you really have to roll with a partner(my wife already said no!). Any good books out there that teach the lingo or maybe show pics of positions and what not?

I have some basic experiance in jui jitsu, been to some classes and rolled with a few semi-pros here locally. It is very humbling and enlightening, you can easily control and destroy mere mortals with this knowledge. I would check out the instructional video's and books from the Gracies, just look online. The Gracies have a rich and sucessful history in this form of fighting and there video's are great ,you can practice and learn some moves and techniques at home but you do need a partner to practice many moves but you can still study. I teamed up for awhile with a local younger kid that won state champ in wrestling and he is now 21 and is very tough. Me and him did some rolling and grappling and it elevates your level to have some comp. I took the kid out some times and he choked me out a few times also it was sick. I feel like I could just crush most chumps on the street if I need to with this well balanced knowledge, but have much to learn also.

2002 Z28 A4 NBM- Sadly now demodded :(
Maybe for you guys. My ex gave me head (and in some strange places - she liked being on the verge of getting caught) more often than we had sex. And I was married for 14 years.
Once I had a hard time convincing a cop that it's not prostitution when you're in a car on a side street and it's your wife sucking your dick.
