Question Who has a Go Pro or Contour?

Thinking about picking up the Motorsports Go Pro, but how does the Contour compare to the Go Pro?

I have a gopro hd hero, I only use it for mountain biking. It works well, but dont expect your raw footage to look or sound like what you see in gopro's youtube videos. Other than that its sturdy and works well. I dont use it as much as I thought so it probably wasnt worth buying.

    I've never used the contour.

So you have to do extensive editing to make it watchable?

I mainly want it for doing videos of my car @ the track & such. I would eventually get the LCD screen so I could use it for non-car videos.

Contour is supposed to have an onboard monitor and a wireless remote. The monitor will be a battery eater as fas as I'm concerned.

Here is a $100 Flip MinoHD

And another with the Go-Pro Hero (non HD)

Not extensive, but editing does make a video from ok to good.

I noticed that mountain biking has a lot more movement, which makes it harder to record something really good. But since you want to use it on a car at the track than you will get some pretty good vids with minimal editing, if any.

I've used my go pro hd at an airplane show, and the vids came out pretty good. Also the gopro only has two buttons which controls EVERYTHING from turning it on, to changing settings. So dont expect it to be as easy to use as a digital camera.

Does that make it a PITA to use?

I'd love to hear from people that have used a Contour

Not really, because I have the settings set to turn on in video mode. So I usually just turn it on, hit record and don't turn it off until one hour later when I finish the mountain bike trail. But if you plan on using it as a digital camera than I can see it being a pita to use.
