Talking Who got the best deal????

Now it may be the booze but I thought of a great thread to post. Who got the best deal on their car. Don't believe I have seen it before but ohhhh well. So I will start this with a bang. I believe I may have just gotten the best deal on my car, if not post up what you recieved in trade for some green backs. Here is goes:

I bought my car in sig, back in 2001 with 9,XXX miles. The car was UNMOLESTED for $22,600.

    Whats everyone working with???

How many miles/years did you have your car. I believe the standard is $1500 a year for a car that lasts a year. So if you spend lets say..... $3000 and the car lasted 3 years, then you got a decent deal.

It lasted about 4 years. 188,000 miles on it when I got it, currently about 225k or so.

I would say that you didn't get ripped. Not the best deal on the planet but could have been worse

    Sadly now demodded :(

I bought the 02 with 29,xxx on it in Apr 05 for my 96 Z28 vert and $7K from a dealer. They wanted $22K and I talked them down to $18K. They gave me $11K in trade for the vert.

I paid $5k cash for the 98 in May 08. Had 174,xxx on it but it looks great and runs like a top.

I paid 1k for mine, it was a 94 and needed a trans, I sold almost 1k worth of extra parts and sold the old front end and that paid for the new front end. I ended up paying an extra 500 for the swap because I got a ws9 hood. Then got a 6 speed swap basically for free because I was given a th400 for free that was built up and traded a guy straight up for the 6 speed stuff. I did other stuff to the car... but my intial investment was 500. I later added chrome rim, t-tops, etc...

My DD is a 1998 Mercury Sable wagon that I bought last spring for $450.00.

It was owned by an elderly man whose daughter was my uncle's secretary back in 1968. She came into the dealership where my wife works to trade it in.

The dealership wouldn't touch it because the odometer was off by 1,500 miles. It had 68,000 miles on it... 6 cylinder automatic.

Exterior is perfect. Everything inside works fine. I'm getting 32 miles per gallon with it. It even has a Kenwood CD player. I did upgrade the speakers in the front doors, and rear door. I left the tweeters pod alone as they sound just fine.

I will try and find some lightweight slotted mags for it this summer and I have heard rumors that Mustang headers may fit inside the engine bay...

So for $450.00 I bet have one of the better value to dollar ratios happening.

My 1994 Camaro Z28 6 speed I bought in 1996 for $11,500.00 with 22,000 on it... I think I got a good buy on that too.

    I got mine for free.

My girlfriend at the time was looking for a mustang and I went shopping with her. I talked her into swinging into a dealership and test driving a formula. She was hooked. She bought it...paid for it....married me.....and I took it over.

gave 4k, had 110k miles on the car, 80k on the motor, put 1400 in it for exhaust & tune (was cut off at stock manifolds ) and she runs like a champ and still looks good.

car had 1500+ worth of stereo equipment still in it
