Question What Octane do you use????

How many of you out there use more then 87 octane on your f-body? (with stock compression) and if so, why?

I've always ran 87 octane when just commuting and such... if I went to the track I'd go 93 to be safe. But I don't hammer my cars daily driving either.

    -Cheapest octane
-Stock compression (not counting changes due to age and shittyness)
    -Because it's the cheapest

Although I haven't had to take it to a gas station in almost a year.

    Why 93 on the track?

What other mods do you have?

93 on the track because that's what gm calls for in the first place I'd guess. That's alot of timing you're giving up for 15 cents a gallon

I use 91 octane. Because car makes more power and runs smoother than say 86 octane and thats what the manual says to use.

Just to be safe... exhaust/intake, nothing crazy. Running a car WOT vs. just cruising at 2-3k rpms is a big difference.

93 at ALL times. I thought I read some where that cheap octane can fuck up the engine.

Your knock sensors will back off the timing enough to keep
you safe unless you have their sensitivity turned down for a rough cam or something. It'll just run like a soggy turd though

93 all the time, 94 or 95 if I can find it. If you want your car to run the best with less headaches, then 91 or higher is all you should run.

Any stock/near stock LS1 should be getting nothing but premium.
Certain reasons you would be able to run lower, but not likely many have those mods done.

Why is this thread around again?

Why is this thread around again?
Because they didn't ask what wheels and tires they can run
