A stock Grand Prix GXP has been 13.6. I believe the Montes are lighter.

Most definetly by far the correct answer. From 1970 up till the ls4 models 1/4 times varied from 15.5x to 17.xx. ls4's are running 14.3(thats according to motor trend so real life times may vary) but thats still more than a full second faster than any other model.

monte carlos werent really made to go fast....to me they are more like cruisers. I like the '87 monte carlo with t tops.

Ya even my 98 z34 pulled past the stock 305 in the SS before I took it out, Although It may have a difficult time doin that now

well you can put whatever SBC crate motor you want in it. But I think the whole point of this thread was asking what monte carlo with an originally installed engine was the fastest made, and it most certainly wasnt anything out of the 80s. My guess is either that 70 454 or the ls4 cars.

Im talking about the same way as a Ford Talladega or a Dodge Daytona .. of course there was no 428 CJ or Hemis in 88 .. but they were made for the same reason ..
