What happaned to good grammer?

I will admit I sometimes misspell words, but at least people can understand my writing. I do not understand how you today's youth get by with the piss poor understanding of the English langauge. As an example my cousin sent me this text message, he has a smart phone with a qwerty keyboard.

back story to the text, asshat cousin stole $800 from me. Forged three checks, two from me, one from the gf for a total of $1300. I figured out it was him because the word dollar on the stolen checks were spelled DALLER. I asked to spell the word dollar, he wrote daller.

I agreed not to turn him in if he pays up. So far we have got $1000 back. He gets paid today so he is at least trying to make it right with us. We also told him he owes us the back rent he failed to pay us.

By the way he wanted to join the Air Force. I am not sure, but I think you need to be kind of smart to fly jets?

He also owes a lot of money to his family. I am the only one getting paid back. I should charge his ass interest.

When refering to someone or something he knows. He says I have been knowing them for 10 years.
