What color to paint the bird??

Had a discussion with the guy who owns the Firebird on the color. He at first wanted to paint it a medium blue. Now he is stuck between the blue, or like a SOM color orange... I think the choice is clear, what do you all think? It will not have the vinal top. Here are the choices.

That's a very hot color. Yeah, it's going to be something along those lines, I think just a touch darker if he pics it.

Here's my Firebird. Its a gold base with 5 coats of candy mandarin orange over it. Only problem I have with it is the poor quality of the paint itself, the pigment has faded BAD. Here's a pic from when it still looked good.

I love both those oranges. Always been a fan. I might smack him if he goes with that blue though. As far as the paint, what brand did you go with that it's poor and fading?

SEM Brand paint. It seemed like good stuff at first, but I'm convinced there is something wrong. Either the supplier didn't sell me some kind of UV protectant, or this shit ain't supposed to be left outdoors. Either way, its faded bad in about a year and a half.

2 coats of primer, 3 coats of gold base, 5 coats of orange, and 3 coats of clear. Not been wetsanded, not been buffed. Been waxed numerous times with Meguiars Gold Class.
