Red- 99 Chevrolet Camaro Z-28
what can you tell me about a 91 nissan 300zx?
i might have a good deal pending on me purchasing a 91 nissan 300zx. but i know squat about them. this person approached me about this deal. the car looks to be in good shape and taken care of. i know his is a tt version with t tops leather interior and a hicas eliminator kit? what ever that is. i just need info on these as im retarded when it comes to nissans haha any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks

Great cars, beautiful cars, reliable cars BUT any kind of underhood work on them is a cock biting WHORE! The timing belt job is expensive as fuck to have done, and unless you are really good at working on cars, I really recommend paying to have it done. The HICAS elimination means they disabled the 4wheel steering feature.

Pulls real hard, but the ls1 has a different kind of powerband. The ls1 is torquier stock for stock, the 300 probably feels like it has more top end. both fun cars. I'd say stock for stock they might run similar times depending on driving skills etc. Unless your ls1 is a m6 factory freak. However the 300zx isnt so much a 1/4 car as it is an all around sports car. If i was forced to bet money, stock for stock on a street race the ls1 is faster. But turbo mods can be deadly lol They were rated at 300 horses stock I think

yeah i saw 300hp for the 5speeds...and they weigh 3200 lbs....all it takes is a little boost controller action to turn the boost up and it could be even more

rule of thumb is to not buy a 300zx before 93 .. but if has had the engine rebuild it sounds like a sweet deal...my buddy used to race one .. a GM auto fits right in and is a easy hook up and you loose lots of weight .. a good polishing of the intake and heads gives you lots of power ...

The VG30DETT is the engine in the 300zx, the vq series v6's power nearly all of nissan's current line up and has been around since 95. The engine in the turbo 300zx is strong because it was built for boost. I wouldnt call vq's weak they just arent built for power adders. Not US motors anyways.

GET IT. Its one of my favorite cars of all times. I got desperate a few months back and sold my 300ZXTT.
They are truly remarkable. Very comfortable to drive. Handles nice, easy to build power out of it. Yea working on the car is a little bit of a PITA but I give the car a 9/10 just because the you have little room to work on motor. I am when I ever get a chance to trade out my silvia with a 300ZXTT

correctomundo. The Vq started life in the maxima, then made its way to the altima, murano, pathfinder, xterra, etc. They fuckin use that motor in everything. Its in the g35/350z too. The VG engine in the 300ZX dates back pretty old, the block anyways. Then Nissan put the DOHC cyl heads on in 90. But the basic block is in old pathfinders, old Z's etc
