Which way did brake pads go?

Wasn't the pad wear indicator supposed to be facing towards the front of the car? I'm doing my parents brakes for them and the clip indicator is facing towards the back. Replace it like that or switch it around?

I don't think it really matters. Once the pad has worn down the sensor will contact the rotor no matter what position it's in. Hope your brake job goes better than the nightmare I just finished up.

Ok. I thought the clip was supposed to be spread apart as it wears enough to contact it because that makes more noise than pushing the clip together or something but whatever. What happened with your brake job?
