Virus protection

So I have comcast with FREE MACAFEE but when i try to download it,it shows that its downloading but never shows up on my icon tray or programs,I clicked run and save save and run ive tried everything,any1 know something i dont about this lol

A few months ago, I was swapped over to Comcast when they bought out Adelphia. I downloaded the free McAfee software and hated it. It updates like it's nobody's business and (IMO) it's way to strict/agressive. I was constantly getting McAfee popup windows asking me if I want to allow or disallow a particular action. It really reminds me of that funny Mac commercial where PC is constantly getting bothered by that Fed looking dude.

I ended up uninstalling it and getting AVG. For a free anti-virus software program, it's pretty good. I read a lot about it and most people a happy with their protection. It's not nearly as crazy as McAfee.
