Valentine's day rip off....
Ordered roses for my wife. 1 dozen, sent to her work. $115!
That's extortion!!!
I ended up cancelling the order because she left work early and wouldn't have gotten them after all.
I get the whole supply and demand thing, but damn!!!

now that's a budget minded individual right there. +5 man points.
I was at school picking up the boy yesterday and was in the lobby waiting for class to let out. There were 3-4 women in there talking about what their husbands had done for them for valentines day. I was just standing there hoping they wouldn't ask me what I did for my wife because I got her the same thing she got me.....jack shit. We decided a few years ago not to be suckered into these holidays. I do her b-day big and x-mas big and that's it. I'll do a mothersday card on occasion but usually I get those for the kids to give to her. No $50 candy and no $100 flowers though.
Anyhow, one of the women said she told her husband to actually read the card this year before picking it out because last year he got her a "sympathy" card. I started laughing and said " First, that's not his fault. It's someone elses fault for putting that card in the wrong spot and secondly how do you know that wasn't on purpose?" They kinda laughed but I doubt they found it near as funny as I did. I've done the grab n go on cards for years. I just reach for the first one under the correct holiday title and don't even read it until I get home. I've noticed that using this method normally works out pretty good......unless some asshole sticks the card in the wrong slot. So for you guys that read the cards before buying them do the rest of us a favor and put the damn thing back under the proper heading.

this is another example of how boys are taken advantage of because they are stupid...
step one: go to grocery store and buy a great bunch of wild flowers (or you can do carnations and roses more vday style) 20-40$
step two: go to craft supply store buy really nice vase- 15$
step three: put flowers in vase, add water and a great bow around the vase to match flowers (bow 4$ at craft store)
step four: deliver them to her work.
total cost: 35-60$
think boys think......

Stuck at work and she works 20 miles from where I work. It would cost me more in time off from work and gas, etc than it would to just pay the people down the street.
Typically, the same thing is like $40 or $50, it's just the v-day mark up that sucked.
