Valentine 1 radar detector...

just wonder what the difference is between the 1.7 and the 1.8 models.
if anyone has one of these go ahead and let me know what you think.

Mine's a 1.7. You might try going to ebay and looking for serials on a 1.8 and keying them into Valentine1.com to see if you get different info.

Isnt there a new radar gun in town that cant be detected? I know it was introduced here in LA

Yeah, its those electromagnetic spear guns they used in fast and the furious 2, they get beside you in a helicopter and shoot it into the side of your car, and it shuts down the cars electric system and you crash. Then you file a lawsuit against them for making you crash and destroying your property and the settlement include a nice amount of cash and a get out of jail free card for whatever the reason was that they shot you for

You probably are referring to POP radar....Most detectors can't pick it up due to the way it pulses, but for the same reason there are also questions about it's accuracy. The new V1 can detect it. I'll pick one up if it ever comes to this area.

No worries for me since all they use around here is laser.

all radar detectors are useless when the cop flips on his radar right as he meets you or u pass by where he/she is sitting.
