    ticking

    Hello every one
I just bought a 98 trans am ws6 with a ls1 motor, The dealer put new lifters in it because it was ticking. It still ticks especially at high rpm's and when the engine is under stress, the noise is constant and unbearable. Any thoughts?

all LS1's tick, to a certain extent, but pull the push rods, roll them on a flat surface (glass or a mirror) see if they are bent.

sounds like I hope you got a warrenty. Or a proof of service rendered.

Does the ticking increase with RPM's? I bet they didn't replace the damn lifter and just put super-thick oil in it to cover up the sound. Please keep us informed. If they claimed service was rendered, ask to see the service order since their has to be a paper-trail. If they deny you that, have it subpoena'd by small claims. PM a guy named zboner regarding how to proove that work wasn't rendered on your car.
