the black area is prabably an area that has not been coverted by the satilite. the fire looks like the image was taken either at sun up or sun set that added an orange hue to the clouds.

+1, the"fire" could also be a mountain ridge, meaning the picture was taken in summer. hard to tell, cos it's the edge of a patch.

looks like the whole thing was covered in clouds and that little Fire spot was a clearing as the sun was rising/setting. Bad timing on the satellite's behalf.

and yeah, the black line...probably the new area 51.

damn, if you go to pearl harbor, you can only see the smoke stack of the arizona in teh water...i bet if the water wasn't rippling at the time of photo, you'd see the whole boat.
