Technicians/Auto service people, dumb customer storys

Didn't want to turn the other thread away from the original topic.

I've been working on cars since about 1993 starting out as a tire buster then installer then mechanic working my way up to technician.

and I have a ton of funny storys of idiot customers, and I know others have to have them too

here a couple I wrote in the other thread

oh and then, this dumb chick comes in, "my brakes just started grinding" check it out and the brake pads are so worn down, that it wore all the way to the vents in the rotor!! "just started grinding??? lol
    lets hear 'em

I work at a school bus depot. The dumbest complaint I've heard from a driver was "tires need hair". I don't think anything can ever beat that, in terms of sheer stupidity.

lol thats what I was thinking or was a customer from www.kalecoauto.com
but surprisingly his "mechanic" told him that. We were messing with him so much telling him that his car must be a beast a whole 3.8 liter and he was telling us it hauls ass all the time and smoked unbelievable cars. Pretty much a domestic ricer.

What was the exhaust dueling with?

The dumbest thing I did was change the oil filter but not drain the block first. Then I proceded to add another 5 quarts of oil to the engine.

I just did a set of brakes on a 93 f150. I pulled the passenger tire off and the pads were gone. The only thing left were the backing plates and it had ground down through the rivets. I asked the guy how long it'd been since he had the brakes done. He said never. Mileage on truck.....310,000. Still on the original clutch too.
