I woulda been just as sketchy as they were too. They didnt say much besides, "Its gonna flip the boat over" or whatever they said. Yuup, i woulda been the same way. I saw a dead whale n the middle of the ocean one time. I could only imagine how scary it would be if there was one of those gi-normous things jumpin out fhe water. If you have never seen one n real life, u should try. UNBELIEVABLY HUGE!!!

Yep they are the size of a school bus and weigh 79,000 lbs.
That's over 39 tons.

I LOVE Humpbacks When you do a whale watch, you can't get very close to them. Laws and all. So, to experience something like this is incredibly awesome.

That could have been a whale of a problem for them if it had hit the boat

This is what happens, when no one in your hunting party has a gun with open sights.
Next thing you know the animal is closing, can't scope it fast enough (besides being too close for a scope), and so you're down to hip firing a high power rifle in a panic.
Or worse, blind firing from your shoulder.
Had one of them had some sort of large cal. hand gun I don't think it would have made it into the middle of their group. IMHO
Hell a 12 or 10 guage blast would've slowed his charge down right quick..imo
Those people got lucky as fawk!Last edited by Smittro; 08-11-2012 at 02:52 AM.
