Stupid arguments with my friend...

First off, I’ve known my friend Joey since I was 8. He’s always been the same. LOL

Joey’s dad always gets these beat up Pickup Trucks, and then sells them, and buys more.

Right now they have two 198X (not sure of the years) pickups.

One has a 350 and is a Manual. The other has a 454 with a T-400, and 4.10 rear. The 454 is a smog motor, and is beat to hell.

Both are loud but slow.

Joey says they will both beat my Camaro.

I told him, lets go to the track and see. He still hasn’t went yet.

Then Joey’s friend Louis got an 85 camaro with a 350, and they think “it’s fast enough to trap 130 in the quarter mile”. They also think the 454 truck is that fast too.

I told them “neither the truck or the camaro could even trap anywhere near 100 mph”.

They laughed and said I don’t know anything.

Then Joey came by my house yesterday (in the back seat of his friends car because he doesn’t have a car) and asked do I want to race for Pink slips.

I said which car, and he said “both my Dad’s trucks and Louis Camaro”.

I laughed and said, “Joey I don’t have any room for all those cars”.

He got pissed and made fun of my Camaro, and I said “you talk a lot of crap from Brian’s backseat, you don’t even have a car fat ass, and they won’t even let you sit in the front”.

Brian and Louis laughed so hard at Joey, Brian almost started crying! LOL

After that, they left.

Why are people so stupid when it comes to cars???

Give them a "ride" in your car.. Show them what the car actually has.. That shut my friend up.. He's got an older Cadillac with a V8..

People "our age" have no idea about cars like they did as short as 10 years ago.. Its sad really, but what can you do. Just take it with a grain of salt and enjoy the self satisfaction of owning an LS1.

Seriously though.. I wouldn't bother. First off those trucks are POS and aren't worth as much as your car so it's not even fair. Second off, you never know what could happen error-wise or bad luck that might cause you to lose, or they could have done something drastic to the truck just to make it win a race (eg "Who cares if the truck survives? Let it make one pass with a 200 shot before it dies from it.") to get your car. Just let him keep talking crap, or race for BRAGGING RIGHTS. Don't risk losing your LS1 for some cruddy old trucks. I don't think you were about to, but figured I better say if before you considered it later.

I like the idea someone else said of giving him a ride too. Worked with one of my buddies also.
