student athlete punished for fame

Does this seem right or fair? He is basically being punished because of how other people act. That's fantastic.

Doesn't seem like he's being punished. Sounds like he just wants to do his school work. Apparently he's not into the fame as much as others are into it for him. Probably easier on the guy to do his work at home anyway.

He was asked by the school to no longer come to class, because his presence was a distraction. To me, that's him being punished for how others are acting, even if he doesn't mind it...

I won't be feeling sorry for him when he's a millionaire and I'm struggling to get by.

All these "feel pity for me" athletes, actors, celebrities are sickening. Sure, I bet its a huge pain in the ass for these people not being able to go out in public and live a normal life, but ya know what, if it wasn't for fans, they wouldn't be who you they are today. Its the fan's that made them famous and rich. If it wasn't for fans buying tickets to see u play, watching your movies, or buying the products you endorse, then they would have nothing. They would be playing for free and acting for free. So ya, its the price they pay. Ask any of these rich SOB's to trade their millions of dollars and fame to be apart of the lower-middle class that 90% of America is nowadays and i bet 0% would want to. So F em.

Seems unfair for him not to be able to attend class. If I was him I would love the attention because I would use it to knock the bottom out of every girl in that school. Even the fatties...........

Life is not fair but any publicity is good publicity for this kid. I am sure he is not pissed or anything.
How I would LOVE for my college to say "You cant come to class because you get the girls all excited." Which I am actually waiting for to happen. haha j/k
If people dont want to be famous and get that recognition then perhaps they shouldnt do things so much better than others.

If he was paying like the rest of us did, I'd see a problem.
He's there for free. They're giving him an education in return for playing on the team. I'd say they've certainly got the right to place stipulations on him.

Schmalgar,
I maybe wrong, but sounds like you have never ran with pro athletes. He does not need to go to a school to bust some butt. Unless you deal with or have dealt with these highly skilled ball players they are very seldom told they can not do this or that. They are spoiled in every sense and can do no wrong.
But in my humble opinion he is not being punished. He most likely didn't like all the pestering at school, mentioned it to the coach and the school is trying to be the bad guy, so as to not make the star look bad.
Hey as I read in this post, life is not fair, never will be. Thats the problem in this country we are trying to make heaven on Earth. PIE IN THE SKY SHIT there.

A story for another day would be that I actually have had an arguement with Sarge which lead to a further altercation with another member..
I'm secure in saying that in the end I was wrong..
Wrong on the subject due to a lack of knowledge, and wrong for ignorance towards other members..
