couldn't have said it better
Just a small hint - SV650 wins all the comparisons between these bikes
But it's all about how comfortable you feel on any of them
don't buy a bike that looks hot - R6, R1, CBR - buy a bike that you will enjoy riding and that is easy to learn on
remember - depreciation on bikes is not as bad as on cars
ninja 650 has a nice upright position - very beginner friendly - and it has full fairing if that's what you want
if you're into naked bikes, well suzuki makes the nice looking one, I believe

I absolutely love it. Beyond being one of the hottest bikes on the road, I feel like it was made for my 6'2", 175 lbs frame. I recently was at an International motorcycle show and got to sit on every kind of bike known to man (honda, suz, kawi, duc, apirilla, and daytona) and without a doubt the R1 fit me the best comfort-wize. When shopping remember that this bike is not made for stunting or drag racing (although it can do both admirably, especially with a sprocket change) but is designed for tackling the twisties. First gear tops out at 108 mph which is a very tall first gear with the other five gears in close ratio. If you or your friend wants to know more send me a pm.
A couple of pics of when she was brand new.Last edited by The Scientist; 11-13-2007 at 06:43 PM.

funny this came up again. My brother just dumped his CBR600RR today when a guy in a lifted pickup crossed the double yellows in a turn. Brother had his g/f on-board and had to adjust mid turn. hit some road imperfection and the back end came loose. Low-sided into a ditch and the fucker in the truck kept on driving. FOrtunately he and the girl are ok, but he has a serious gash taken out of his left knee.
