    soo im gettin screwed

    alright, i started working with my company in July..got hired on at 10.97/hr.

    new hire is riding with me today...i know him very well..known him for 3 years. the new hires now are making 12/hr. he just got hired 1/28.

    kinda fucked up
    kinda pissed off

    he felt bad after telling me because even he said it wasn't fair

    cant go to the company about it otherwise we could possibly get fired

    guess i see why companies say don't talk about pay....so u can get shafted

    I feel your pain man, had that happen to me twice. I started at $10 and hour and after 3 months got my buddy hired. When he told me he was hired I asked how much he got. He was getting $12/hr, I was fucking pissed. Other story is pretty much like that. I told both company's to fuck off.

    if you are more or as qualified to do your job as the new hires are then tell your company you want equal pay... if they say no then say you will sue them for descrimination, defimation of charactor and a bunch of other shit that i don't have time to post...

    that sounds like a good idea...but I wouldnt know where to start nor would I think it might be worth my time...im sure my company has some kind of "backup plan" in case something like this happens. So im sure i would be out of a job and not get any money out of it...although it does sound like a good idea.

    if they do anything other than give you a raise you could probably find an attourney to take the case for free ( minus his cut in overall winnings)

    best part is... you can stay there and work... they can't fire you unless you fuck up...

    that happened to me. working with 15 other women, shit gets around. someone blabbed to me (i didnt ask or want to know for that matter) that so and so was making this much. which was what i was making at the time! except she was just hired and i was there 4 YRS! well it got out that people were discussing wages, and needless to say i got a fucking huge raise cuz she didnt want to lose me, being a valuable employee and all, and this other bitch was useless and lied about her qualifications. stupid whore.

    That happens all the time... welcome to being a grown up... for example

    hired late 2005 $44,500... got raise of 11% in lat 2006.... so i was making very hi $40k's.... they raised the low pay limit for engineering to $50k in mid 2007... so i got a $800 raise... Newbies that hired in at what i hired in 2 years ago for $5000 raises... then a few months later we all got 3% to 5% raises... long story short i prettt mush lost a 10% raise... imake exactly what newbies make and im comming up for my 2 year engineering raise...

    Also they only raised the associate engineer pay when they raised the lower limit... so engineers and senior engineers (2 years to be engineer 5 to be senior) who where making $51k got NO raise and associates for 10%... fucking idiots...

    did you get a review/raise after 3 months...i know most hourly jobs do that.
