someone was looking out for me Monday

I went camping monday night with a buddy and had all my stuff packed up. Backed the truck up to the camper and was easing it back under the hitch. Hit my brakes and they went to the floor. Blew out a brake line. If that would've happened heading down in the hills I would've been in a world of shit.

Good to know yer alright Orion. I have had coworkers blow lines simply backing out of their work bays cuz the lines are so rusted.

that truck sits outside almost year round. Those lines are shot. I'm going to replace them all tomorrow. I pulled out a couple of them tonight. I'll just go buy pre-made straight pieces and bend them myself. Just easier than flaring them.

I've not had any problem flaring my own. I hate when the prebents are too long and people just coil them up to take up the slack.

yeah, I don't coil them. I'll just route them a little differently if I have too but usually you can buy straight pieces that are pretty close to what you need. I don't even own a double flare tool.

I don't own one either, but my uncle does. He loves it when I borrow his tools.

One way or another you'll be using some compression fittings lol You can try and measure how long the line is by removing all your lines and then buy accoridingly but i can almost bet money you'll be using compression fittings at some parts. Do yourself a favor and do all of them, if you just replace the one that popped, you'll bleed brakes only to pop another one and you'll keep doing that till you get them all lol

I did almost all of them on my jeep cherokee save for the ones that go to the front calipers, then they popped not too long ago lol got a good 6 or 7 months out of my rig job though

yep, that's the plan. I'm doing all of them. I've done brakes lines many times before. I'm not a fan of bending them and it's a pain in the ass but I always get it done and they normally come out looking pretty decent. The compound bends are the ones that get me usually. Hard to do that with a little hand bender. I can normally bend them where they run close to the stock locations...... they just might not have the same exact bends.

I'm going with this answer and now that you mentioned it when I went outside that day I thought I smelled a weird mix of ben-gay, cigarettes, and Ensure in the air.

I'll look over the yard tomorrow and see if there are any hover-round tracks out there.
