So its happening again.....
To start this story off i started working at a dodge dealership recently as a tech and I have really really enjoyed it. While ive always picked on dodges cars some of them are actually quite nice. This Saturday i worked on two dodge challenger RTs, the first one was a automatic and i didnt get to drive it very far. The second one was a 6 speed, black on black, pistol grip shifter. Well it had low air in one of the tires and i didnt want to give it back to him with the tire pressure sensor on so i drove it to flip the light off. The car wasnt at all what i expected and i actually enjoyed driving it. Now i know its not fast, i have a low 12 sec trans am i drive EVERY day 60 miles so im used to what a decently fast car feels like. But it was nice to drive, it rode well, it was quiet, the seats were comfortable and it was very much different from the 12 year old car i drive every day. So when i was pulling back in i noticed they had a black and red RT for sale for 24k..... With my discount for working there i could get it for 19-20k. I know i could get 10-13k for my car. Which leaves me with not very much of a car note.
What im here for is for two things, what does it take to get a RT into the 12s, and am i going to regret this decision in 6-8 months....
BTW the words big heavy and ugly are all not things that are going to change my mind.

First off, your trade is probably not worth that much. Plus, they handle like a plate of piss. If you're serious about having a fast car, keep yours.

Phantom Black Metallic- 2004 GTO M6
It's your car. Do what you want with it. Since you work for a Dodge dealer, I am sure you can get go-fast parts for it. But I would get an SRT8 as stated previously.

It's your call man. I have bought, sold and traded a few trans am's for way nicer cars and have regretted a few of them. I will be holding on to the one i have now for a while. Newer car automatically equals better durability, dependability, smoother ride, trans, more options and so on. But it also usually comes with a payment book. Also many people don't want to mod a lot on newer cars for the fact they are new and it voids the warranty and what not. Anyway just giving my .02 and throwing a little info at you. Everyone is different and in the end it comes to your choice. Either way im sure you will make the right choce. good luck.

they are for people that dont wanna go fast and just cruise in the "retro musclecar". Big, heavy, pig. You'll be paying a car note and after the novelty wears off you'll realize you drive a heavy hunk of shit with rental car build quality and terrible resale value.
Get a new 2011 mustang gt if you wanna go fast

Bat mobile black- 2000 Trans am WS6 M6
If you want a fast challenger get the 392 SRT8 they do 12's stock. Personally i like the looks of the SRT8s, not the R/T's though, theyre very basic.

Oh yeah...I wasn't thinking in terms of the GT...I love the GT500, which doesn't have the chinese transmission (god what a disaster that would be)...so I never thought of that.
