So it has been a rough day.
This morning at 9 AM when I was getting ready for work my dad called and told me my mom was having chest pains and had been admitted to the hospital.
Around 11 or so I got another call from him after I arrived at work, and they said she had a blood clot. He also said they were life flighting her to piedmont hospital because the hospital she was in at Fayette did not have a cardiac doctor incase something went wrong.
Well.. something went wrong. On the flight to piedmont she had a massive heart attack. Upon getting to the hospital I was informed of the news. She had 100% blockage of one of the main arteries entering the heart. They had performed surgery to remove the blockage, and put a stent and a baloon inside her. She has other blockage but they treated that with medication. They said she suffered massive damage to the heart.
As of now and of the past 2 hours when I left the hospital, she was in critical but stable condition. They had her on a respirator and a temporary pace maker. At first she was using both often, and when I left she was pretty much on her own and wasnt using the pace maker much, the pace maker would only kick in if she dropped below 60 and apparently she had stabilzed her own heart beat, however was still heavily on the respirator. She has been heavily sedadated since the helicopter flight and hasn't been aware of whats going on. Prognosis at the moment could go either way. We pretty much can only watch and wait to see how her body responds to the treatment.
I know some of you might not like me very much, and I am sure some of you know how it is to lose a parent. I am hoping its not her time and she will pull through. She is a small girl at 5'2 125 lbs but has the fight of a tiger inside her. She is 48.
Please, even if you don't pray just speak a few words on her behalf tonight.
Thacker

I will deff. say a prayer tonight for her, it is incredible how things can take a turn for the worse in such an instant.
i try each day to live my life as good as possible, holding doors for people, helping others, if it is my time to go i will accept that, i try to make everybody happy, it just scares us sometimes as to what can happen in a fraction of a second that will change the rest of our lives.
my father lost his job 1.5 yrs ago, now i must make some major decisions as to help pay for college
i believe that everything happens for a reason, possibly i will get more out of college because i will have to pay for most of it,
maybe you will spend much more time with your mother and have some very good times because of what has happened, i experienced the deaths of a cousin, 2 grand parents, a friend, 2 neighbors, great grandfather, great uncle, and i always wish i could have spent more time with them,
i'm not accusing you of not spending enough time with your mom, but sometimes we wish we had spent more time with certian peopleLast edited by ss~zoso~ss; 03-09-2006 at 05:21 PM.

I will pray for you and your mom. Please take my advice when I say this, go to the hospital and tell her exactly how you feel about her. Anything you need to get off your chest, do it. Hold her hand, tell her you love her, tell her you are sorry for any fights, or things you may regret saying. I was young when my mom passed away from cancer, but I never got the chance to say those things to her. There are things I still wish I would have said to this day. I sincerely hope everything turns out for the better, but please don't leave any regrets.

Hey Thack, prayer sent. You sound like you got a good handle on all that info, but if you need any clarification on something, this is my specialty. You can always shoot me a PM.

Sorry about your mom...I hope she pulls through. Clots are a scary thing...something so little can take down even the biggest or strongest person.
