Seriously. WTF? just answer my question.
a week ago I ordered a Navigon GPS with free lifetime traffic updates on Amazon. 2 days later, I find out that Navigon is leaving the US market as a GPS company.
So I emailed the company asking of they still still support their costumers.
Here is my Email.
I purchased the 7200t unit a week ago and it's finaly here. At the same
time I hear the news that navigon is leaving the US market.
My main concern is the live traffic updates. I need to know if the
company still going to support it's customers.
Thank you
So here is the response I got 3 days later.
Dear NAVIGON Customer
Thank you for your inquiry.
NAVIGON Inc. will be reallocating resources from its branded line of portable navigation devices to focus on more profitable segments within the navigation sector in North America. This transition will place an increased emphasis on NAVIGON’s heritage, software development – the core of any navigation experience. NAVIGON Inc. will focus on software with an enthusiastic push into mobile and smartphone segments, as well as a continuation of support for both OEM and automotive sectors. NAVIGON Inc. believes that software development is our core competence.
As every company, NAVIGON Inc. has to adjust its business and strategy to meet the changing market conditions. These have changed from the time the decisions for launching the products were made so we had to restructure the business after we already announced the products.
Sincerely
pp Michelle Collier

That's probably just some pre-made response to customer concerns. Many companies have those 'safe' responses.

Just write them back and say that their canned answer didn't answer yours.
Being versed in marketing speak (BS), it does look like they'll still support traffic, but their focus will change from individual customer markets to enterprise/fleet markets with different form factors. I suspect that integration of the traffic features will carry over since it's core to their business model.
But, you should totally ask them that.

so I sent them another Email.
I am sorry, but that does not answer my question. Are you still going to offer Lifetime Traffic updates?
this is their response. (3 days later again)
Dear NAVIGON Customer
Thank you for your inquiry.
