Scorpions to retire band ...

BERLIN (AP) -- The German rock band Scorpions is bringing down the curtain on a career spanning more than four decades.

The band, known for its early 1990s hit "Wind of Change" among others, said on its Web site Sunday that "we agree we have reached the end of the road."

It said it would end its career with a final album -- "Sting In The Tail," to be released in March -- and a tour that will start in Germany in May and take it across the world "over the next few years."

Guitarist Rudolf Schenker founded the band in Hannover in 1965. Singer Klaus Meine joined a few years later. Both men are 61.

They will be missed. They are one of my and my father's favorite bands.

Rock You Like A Hurricane is one of the best songs...

I'll go see them on tour, if it don't cost 100 a ticket.

First song I heard was 'No One Like You' back when I was 9. Saw the video on U68(now HSN) back in I think '85. Wild video.

ok, some of the early stuff is good, but everything later than 1986 or so is unbearable! i say this and still i'm friends with klaus meine's vocal teacher, she's a very nice lady from texas.

Haven't kept up on their current events...i remember reading there were brothers...i think

Yea Love at First Sting .. prob their high point as far as CDs go .. Very good live band .. I like the older Uli stuff .. and World Wide Live is a great live Cd too .....
