Are they reliable as daily drivers?

Arctic White Hardtop- '98 Formula M6
back in my nissan days I did some considerable research on these cars.
Are they reliable as daily drivers - yes for the most part
Hard to work on - harder than american cars
Expensive to maintain - not really
Common problems - i dunno
They are good cars. Kinda heavy in weight for what you get though. If you get one, its TT or nothing, If you get a non TT the aftermarket conversion kits are $$$$. Most people would say to just go for a 240sx, but 240's are played out.Last edited by Secret Formula; 02-26-2007 at 08:40 AM.

Burple- 1966 427 Cobra Replica
I worked with a guy who used to have one and loved it. He swore by the turbos. He DID, however, sell it because it was so expensive to maintain. He didn't do his own maintenance or repairs and whenever something broke, the labor bill was outrageous. They're very compact cars with minimal space to work so if something needs to be removed, odds are, lots of other stuff needs to be removed too in order to get to your problem.

I used to be a gm tech and at the 2 gm/nisson dealers I worked at the nisson guys hated those cars. I drove one once that was a TT with all wheel steering and it was a blast to drive and handled very well but not worth the headaches if you ask me. Things like timing belts cost an arm and a leg and if not done at 60k every 60k it can wipe out the whole motor and you have to take aprt every thing under the hood to do it. I think the factory pays somthing like 8 hrs to do one which means it takes about 9-10 hours in your drivway if your really good. Not worth it if it was me.

Black- 2001 Corvette
Maintenance part was covered by other posters, but the 300zxTT was in Car and Drivers 10 best almost, if not every, year it was produced. That's gotta say something.
