A local shop said they will do the install for $250-300

Unless the limited slip is shot that kit is everything you'd need. You'll need to recalibrate tbe speedo for the gears though

That kit cost less then my yukon 4.10 ring & pinon gears & master rebuilt kit from Strange....
And $250 for full install - the pinon crush sleeve will make you pay that and be grateful.

Get it up on stands and pull the wheels. Put a pry bar between the studs on both wheels. Put one side against the ground or chassis and then try and turn the other side. If little resistance its weak if doesn't turn or it takes a good bit of effort should be good. Its also going to.come down to if you want to worry about it as well. Being a 5.0 I'd say 50/50 shot she's weak since oh so many have been babied in life lol

Carpy I'm kinda going through this right now with my rear project. I have both axles in. I turn the pass side, the pion & drivers rotate, vice versa. When the pinon turns , both go in same direction.
It takes a consider amount of effort to rotate them, meaning I need to use a large screwdriver between lug studs to move the axles. With the pinon no issues.
The spider gears do not move, at all. Is something wrong or does this mean I need significant friction (tire on ground) to see if the slip posi is working correct?

Its best to have one side in a manner of not moving. Ie tire on ground or lime I suggested with a 2nd pry bar

ok after I get it back together after cleaning out the axle tubes I'll check it that way. Installed a vent plug on the passenger axle tonight. One more thing to check off the list.
