Rained a little last week....
Sure most of you heard about the Colorado floods late last week.
Everyone I know is safe, but the damage is INSANE. I was up north a bit yesterday, and there is still water all over the place, but they are repairing and cleaning up now. Thinking about driving towards Longmont today to take a look before heading to Breck to meet some family for dinner.
I didn't get as many pictures as my fiancee did, but we were lucky. Small leak because I didn't expect what we got and I didn't cover our cooler, water leaked in.
We sit about 1/2 mile from the South Platte River, which created all kinds of issues. I will see if I can get the pics from Tuula, but the river is normally 9-10 feet from the bridge over it...and it was about 6 inches from being over the roadway.
Take a look, some intense pictures here. Thank the Lord for the National Guard and our Military!!! Tuula wasn't called in (nurse for the AF reserves, Captain K. ) but was busy as hell at her civi job.

I took this yesterday. Little farm on my way downtown....5 days later. There was a camper knocked over and the water was clearly running FAST over the roadway Thursday. The road was closed for 4 days until Monday night.

I talked to my friends out there yesterday morning. Insane. Glad you're safe.

I spent an entire day last week helping a friend of mine dig sump holes in his basement floor to put a sump pump in to get water out. Driving home that night was interesting. Driving through rivers in the middle of town and such. Crazy week of weather for sure.
I know these vids don't mean much without some context, but both of these "creeks" can usually be walked across and barely getting above your ankle wet. And both are usually maybe 20-30 feet wide.

Some places in Boulder County got 18 inches in just about 48 hours.
One of the TBSS locals lost his house in Longmont.

2016 Camaro SS - Summit- 2001 Trans Am WS6 - NBM
Glad you guys are OK. We know how it is with flooding this year, my dad lost a rent house and most of his fence we just put up two years ago. Lot of other people, many of them my wife's family, lost everything. We didn't get near the amount of rain you guys did though, the pics I've seen are devastating. That much rain localized here in that amount of time would drown us all....

That's crazy. I know all about flooding. Scooping mud out of our garage, 33" of water in the basement (pump couldn't keep up) freezer floating in the water lol

Amazing it takes so long to find certain things/people.
My uncle lost his uncle in Lyons to this flood.
The death toll is low considering the damage, which is a small blessing. I've offered my help to the local TBSS owner that lost his house....I wish I could do more.

Glad to hear that you guys are OK. Mother nature can be scary. You can never really be fully prepared for things like this.
